Upgrading from iHomeServer v2

It is simple to upgrade from iHomeServer v2 - just follow the normal instructions for upgrading to a new version of iHomeServer which you can find here.

Please note that iIHomeServer v2 license codes will not work on iHomeServer v3.  If you upgrade to iHomeServer v3 a new 30 day evaluation period will start.  At the end of the evaluation period you must purchase a iHomeServer v3 license to continue to use iHomeServer.  Please see our web site for upgrade pricing from iHomeServer v2 to iHomeServer v3.

Note that iHomeServer v3 changes the structure of the iHomeServer database.  iHomeServer v3 will backup your iHomeServer.sdf database file (which is in your User Profile directory) before upgrading.  If you later decide to revert back to iHomeServer v2, you will need to restore your database to the backuped version.

For reference, the iHomeServer.sdf file (and its backup) are found in the following directories:

Windows Server 2012 Essentials, Windows Home Server 2011, Windows Server 2008, Windows 8/7/Vista:

C:\Users\[User]\AppData\Roaming\iHomeServer (for iTunes)\iHomeServer.sdf

Windows Home Server v1, Windows Server 2003:

C:\Documents and Settings\[user]\Application Data\iHomeServer (for iTunes)\iHomeServer.sdf
