Conversions (iHomeServer Web Access)

 
iHomeServer v3 includes features that allow video conversions to be automated so that videos that are not already in iTunes compatible formats can be converted into iTunes friendly formats en-masse.  For example, a folder full of AVIs can be configured as a Watch Folder with video conversions enabled.  iHomeServer will monitor the folder and queue any AVIs for conversion to MPs.  Once converted, the MP4 version of the file will automatically be added to iTunes.  Similarly, iHomeServer can monitor a DVD or Blu-Ray drive.  When a DVD/BluRay is inserted, iHomeServer can trigger the disk to be ripped to MP4, tagged and then added to iTunes.  Note that video conversions depend on Handbrake first being installed on your system.  See the topic on Video Conversions for further information on how to configure video conversions.
